The Netherlands Agro Mission to Vietnam - 19-23 March 2017 - Ho Chi Minh City & Hanoi, Vietnam
The Vietnamese agricultural sector is growing fast, representing over 18 percent of Vietnam’s current GDP. This puts pressure on the environment and leads to impacts such as the excessive use of pesticides, deforestation and water pollution. The Vietnamese government is committed to moving
towards increased sustainability and delivering high-quality agricultural products. This will increase Vietnam’s food security and will improve the economic strength of the sector.
The Netherlands is keen to play a role in this transition. Dutch knowledge, technology and innovative agricultural products are top-notch and can be put to good use in Vietnam. The two countries have therefore developed a strong relationship during the last decades, signing strategic partnerships in the fields of
water and climate adaptation, and agriculture and food security.
